Perspectives!  is a weekly blog that attempts to examine a broad range of socio-economic cultural and political issues in Athens and around the world.   The decision to focus on issues beyond Athens is based on the fact that events unfolding beyond this community and the borders of the USA  have the potential to impact people at the local level.

There is no disputing the fact that new information communication technologies have helped to move our world closer to being a global village.  That while our communication channels have improved significantly, our access to events taking place around the world has increased simultaneously.
